Lukas Grube - Director

For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to be a storyteller. From the moment I picked up a camera and made my first lego stop motion, I knew this medium was the only way I wanted to express myself. Since then, my love and passion for directing has only grown stronger. I am deeply committed to having an intimate understanding of every aspect of the process of making a film, and to me there is no greater feeling than the intense collaboration that comes from surrounding myself with amazing crews. I wear my influences on my sleeve. My love for Fassbinder, Cassavetes, Loden and many other great realist directors can be found in my work. My most recent project, my senior capstone film for the Savannah College of Art and Design, focuses on grief, and how difficult it is to keep up with the world that wants to keep moving. That is not to say that I am not in touch with my abstract side, as I find an incredible freedom in music videos and advertisements. With all the incredible things I have learned in school, I hope to make my way through the industry, and create feature films that connect to audiences in search of something truthful.
